YEAR 8 PRODUCTIONS
Story First. Impact Built In.
Year 8 Productions develops, finances, and produces original films and series designed to move audiences—and create meaningful impact beyond the screen.
Every project includes a giveback component supporting a recovery effort, community, or cause connected to the work.
DEVELOP. FINANCE. PRODUCE. GIVE BACK.
Stories can do more than hold attention. They can direct it where it matters.
Year 8 was founded on the belief that ambitious storytelling and real-world impact should reinforce one another. We partner with creators to protect the integrity of their vision, build projects for lasting audience connection, and ensure every production contributes to something beyond itself.
FEATURED PROJECT
Scars on the Mountain

A feature documentary about Hurricane Helene, the people of Yancey County, and the ordinary citizens, veterans, and volunteers who became a lifeline when their communities were cut off from the world.
Reached #1 on Angel within 36 hours.
THE IMPACT COMMITMENT
A portion of Year 8’s proceeds from Scars on the Mountain will support ongoing recovery efforts in Yancey County, North Carolina. Allocation will be informed by cast members and local community leaders, so support can be directed where it is needed most.
THE YEAR 8 IMPACT COMMITMENT
Every story should leave something behind.
Giving back is not a campaign we add after a project is released. It is part of how the project is built. Every Year 8 production includes a defined commitment to support a recovery effort, community, or cause aligned with the story.
01
LISTEN
We begin with the people closest to the story and learn what meaningful support would actually look like.
02
COMMIT
We establish a project-specific giveback through financial participation, direct resources, strategic partnerships, or sustained awareness.
03
ACCOUNT
We clearly identify the commitment, the intended recipient or effort, and—when support has been distributed—what it helped make possible.
Built for stories that matter.
Year 8 Productions is an independent film fund and production company founded in 2022. We develop, finance, and produce scripted, unscripted, and documentary work with filmmakers and partners who believe in the enduring power of human stories.
We pair strategic investment with creative freedom, supporting ambitious ideas from development through distribution. Our standard is simple: the story must matter, the work must endure, and every project must give something back.
