Year 8 Productions is a film fund and production company driven by purpose and craft. Founded in 2022, we develop and finance original stories designed to connect and endure. Our work begins with people: the artists, partners, and communities whose voices shape what comes next.

PROJECTS

Scars on the Mountain

When Hurricane Helene—the deadliest U.S. storm since Katrina—unleashed its fury 300 miles inland, it defied all expectations, turning North Carolina’s Appalachian Mountains into ground zero. In the quiet town of Burnsville, thirty feet of water rose in minutes, severing the community from the world. Scars on the Mountain is told entirely through the voices of survivors—a visceral meditation on loss, resilience, and the quiet strength that lingers long after the floodwaters recede and the scars remain.

VISION

At Year 8, we believe in the enduring power of the human story—its ability to reveal, connect, and transform. We collaborate with visionary creators and studio partners to craft films and series that transcend format, bridging scripted, unscripted, and documentary narratives. Intentional curation and respect for the creative process guide every decision we make. By aligning strategic investment with artistic freedom, we enable ambitious storytelling on its own terms. Grounded in trust and long-term collaboration, our work resonates across perspectives and shapes the stories that define our time.
